Ferrari 250PF Cabriolet - Fantasy Junction

Over the past few weeks, we've been well-versed in Ferrari fun, from The Cavallino Classic to the newest arrival in the showroom! Today, we'll be covering an old friend ready to meet its next caretaker. Join us for the Ferrari 250 PF Cabriolet Series II - Check-in!

Our team has always been well-versed in classics, but back in the late 2010s our shop suddenly became a hotbed for Ferrari 250 restoration. Between 2012 and 2017, our team was lucky enough to see 4 different examples of the incredibly rare Ferrari 250 Pininfarina Cabriolet.

Just over 200 examples of the 250 PF Cabriolet were produced between 1959 and 1962.The 250 PF Cabriolet acted as the most luxurious grand touring offering from Ferrari during that time, offering Ferrari's powerful Columbo V12 3.0L engine coupled with Pininfarina's iconic design language.

These 250 Pininfarina Cabriolets would see some extensive restoration work during their time in the shop. All four received paint and convertible top work, and two would later win awards at the Cavallino Classic in 2017. Today, we're taking the chance to look back at one of these heavy-hitting restorations as this 1960 Ferrari 250 Pininfarina Cabriolet looks for a new caretaker!

This 1960 Ferrari 250PF Cabriolet is one of our favorites, having won the Wayne Obry Excellence in Restoration Special Award at the Cavallino Classic back in 2017. This award was huge both for the car and our team, knowing the worldwide Ferrari community recognized our artistry and the countless hours spent to restore this icon.

Chassis number #2135GT was the final example we worked on during this period. After four extensive restorations, our team had unparalleled expertise in the Pininfarina Cabriolets. Now, this Ferrari continues to be considered one of the best examples of the 250 Pininfarina Cabriolet in the world.

Over at Fantasy Junction in California, their team has prepared this fantastic restoration for sale! They've done an amazing job of presenting the Grigio Ferrero over the Tobacco leather. You can find a link to their listing here. They've done a great job of highlighting everything from the numbers-matching engine and transmission, to the rare hard-top and every inch of Italian design in-between.

With a Concours level restoration, every element of a car needs to be addressed and properly tended to. This is especially true for our restorations that see more use, like the 250 Pininfarina Cabriolet that would later run in the Colorado Grand, a grueling 1000-mile rally throughout the Rocky Mountains.

This mastery of all things restoration, from aesthetics to the mechanics are key for our team. This ingrained knowledge helped us to ensure that chassis #2135GT not only looks the part but is a useable, driving example.

If you'd like to learn more about chassis #2135GT you can read more about this icon over on Fantasy Junction's website, or catch up with the Farland history here. Maybe you're interested in those three other Ferrari 250 PFs that rolled through the shop!
